and take advantage of the ever expanding list of learning
modules you must be a trainee registered with the
college or Member of the College. Access is then free; you
are simply required to submit your College details on

details) has free access to the modules on Trainees Online. You are
not required to create an account on the site; just use your
College user details to log in. Student Associates are entitled to
access but will not receive this automatically. If you are a
Student Associate and you would like to view the Trainees Online
modules, please contact us and we will be
happy to arrange access for you.
Please note that Trainees Online is free for
trainees, members, affiliates and Student Associates for a limited
period, subject to funding.

learning needs of trainee psychiatrists preparing for the
As such, the content of the learning modules is screened by
the College Examinations Panels, to ensure that material meets the
expectations of the relevant Membership Examinations.
However, it should be noted that modules will include
specific ‘Key reading’ lists, and an examination-level
understanding of a given topic should only be expected in
association with this further reading.
At the moment, Trainees Online is producing modules on
the Basic Sciences MRCPsych syllabus only. In the topics
covered by Trainees Online, satisfactory appreciation of the
material in the modules, combined with the carefully-targeted ‘Key
reading', should be sufficient to get you through those sections of
the examination. The College is currently discussing plans to
develop modules on the Clinical areas of the MRCPsych syllabus.
Authors are, in the main, higher trainees with
a special interest in their topic area, commissioned to
write by the College. Prior to publication, each module is
also reviewed by another expert in the field. Modules are also
reviewed by members of the MRCPsych Examinations panel to ensure
that the content meets the expectations of the relevant

There is no certificate of completion for learning modules on
Trainees Online. However, each module does contain interactive
activities and questions to check your knowledge and help you
